OASP

A modern, open protocol for alarm signaling — version 1 “Hermes”.

The protocol

OASP is a modern, open protocol for alarm signaling. It uses JSON over HTTPS, HMAC-SHA256 authentication, and a human-readable event taxonomy. Any developer can implement a receiver in an afternoon.

Why OASP

Alarm signaling protocols were designed decades ago for analog phone lines. Cryptic codes, custom binary framing, no built-in authentication — and after years of IP migration, interoperability remains a challenge. Every manufacturer ships their own variant, every integration is a special case. OASP takes a different approach: build on standards that already work everywhere.
